The constellation Orion, depicted as a hunter, is a cluster of stars seen in the night sky. At its heel sits two neighboring constellations: Canis Major and Canis Minor.

Canis Major is referred to as The Greater Dog. In it sits Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky. Next to it is a constellation most people have never heard of... Canis Minor, also known as The Lesser Dog, made up of two stars:
Procyon and Gomeisa.

Procyon comes from the Greek for "before the dog" and it earned its name by appearing on the horizon ahead of Sirius. Not only does it lead the greater dog into view, it is one of the closest stars to us, showing up as the eighth brightest star in the entire night sky.

So what? Why are we talking about astrology?

Well, much like the constellation, there are countless dogs in the world that carry an immense amount of light, but are overlooked and seen as lesser.

At almost every shelter or humane society there are kennels that get overlooked and walked past time and time again. Ones containing a senior dog greying around her eyes and mouth, or a seventy pound teddy bear whose bark just means he’s excited, or the high drive pup who was adopted twice already and is still looking for his forever home. These are the dogs that get passed over repeatedly because a clouded past makes it hard to see their bright future.

Then one day the right person comes along.

Someone who sees that nothing about that dog was ever lesser. They only see the light that dog could bring into their lives if they just take a chance and opened their heart and home. 

We want to bring significance back to these dogs, because much like the constellation, they have a role to play in the cosmos. As part of our mission, a percentage of every sale goes back to the dogs still waiting at shelters and humane societies.
